I told him I wanted to borrow you for dinner and he assumed I wanted to borrow you for bed. Which, by the way, is apparently okay if I TELL him first. Is that really how your relationship goes?

Mostly, yeah. I have a husband and three other partners. We don't hold ourselves to a lot of exclusivity, just mutual respect.

You really want me to have dinner with you?

Yeah, of course I do. I'd say it's better than being alone, which is true, but I really enjoy your company and I think you might like some of the stuff I can make.

I bet you're right. I don't tend to eat a lot, but anyone's a better cook than I am. What's your specialty?

French cuisine is my preference but I can cook just about anything from scrapple to canard à l'orange.

All I know about French food is bread, cheese, crepes, and snails.

Scrapple's probably more my speed, but let's not start out with anything too heavy.

Why does everyone assume I'm getting together with everyone I know? Geez. He's gone, anyway, not that anyone but me seems to notice.

I'm sorry he's gone though. Never really met him, but I know you two went through a lot.

It's fine. All this place does it drag up bad things some days. But there are lots of good things and good people. I'm luckier than I let on.

That's one of the reasons. The other reason being that I'm alive.

At home, in a manner of speaking. And most definitely in the place I was before here, especially if Cable had left me there alone.

It makes sense. I didn't say it must when I first got here because I didn't think people would get it. But this place is better than home for me. Even with all its threats.
